JCON Europe in Cologne is around the corner (and here are your free Foojay JCON tickets), May 13 to 16. Why should you go? Well, one reason is that the talks will be awesome. Here’s the start of a series of reasons why some of them are absolutely unmissable!

Jakarta EE 11 – Performance and Developer Productivity – Ivar Grimstad

Thursday, 16 May 2024 9:00 am – 9:45 am – Cinema 7

Jakarta EE 11 will be the first release of Jakarta EE after the new release cadence was introduced. The goal is to release a version of Jakarta EE around six to nine months after an LTS release of Java SE. With Java 21 released in September 2023, Jakarta EE 11 is scheduled to be released around June/July of 2024.

What are the updates? Are there any new specifications introduced? What about removals? Will there be another namespace change? How will the impact of this release be on other frameworks and technologies, such as Spring, Apache Tomcat, Hibernate, and more?

Come to this session to get all these questions and more answered to be prepared for Jakarta EE 11.

Why your talk is unmissable?

My talk titled “Jakarta EE 11 – Performance and Developer Productivity” will give you a full overview of what to expect from the upcoming Jakarta EE 11 release. By attending the talk, you will have the advantage of getting this knowledge first-hand before it reaches your code.

This even applies to Spring developers. If you haven’t noticed yet, a lot of the Jakarta EE technologies are exposed to Spring developers through the dependence Spring has on Jakarta EE. It will be there before you know it!
