SUMMARY:Webinar: domain-centric architecture -

SUMMARY:IBM Webinar: Applicatiemodernisatie zet jou als ontwikkelaar centraal

SUMMARY:The Challenges of Rest-Service-Heavy Native Mendix Apps 👩‍💻👨‍💻
DESCRIPTION:The Challenges of Rest-Service-Heavy Native Mendix Apps \nWe will start our .BLD() season with a collaboration with the Mendix Community! A session follows Capgemini’s talk at Mendix World by our low-code expert Wouter Penris. Get ready to step into the world of Challenges of Rest-Service-Heavy Native Mendix Apps. Be there! \n#Event Schedule\n19:00 – 19:05 – Welcome by Mendix community manager: Jan de Vries\n19:05 – 20:35 – Wouter Penris – The Challenges of Rest-Service-Heavy Native Mendix Apps\n20:35 – 20:40 – Bye bye! \n#Abstract\nNative apps built with Mendix provide an offline-first capability that works great with a persistable domain. However\, if your business plans to use Mendix as a front-end layer only — not persisting anything\, but retrieving information by REST service each time that information is required\, while also considering web functionality — then you must align web and native in one design. Capgemini low-code expert Wouter Penris will share how this was done in practice as they constructed a front-end layer using Mendix within a complex\, multi-layered software framework against very high security standards for a fintech customer. You’ll learn how to design a domain model fit for both web and native\, and best practices to prevent compile-time errors while embedding microflows in nanoflows. \nDuring this event\, we will demonstrate live how to prevent the compile- and run-time errors outlined in the MxWorld talk\, and there will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions and exchange ideas. \n#About: Wouter Penris\nWouter is a senior (lead) Mendix Software Engineer with a background in education (English & Music) and in music (Jazz Vocals & piano); a multi-potentialite. Where as a teacher he spent years perfecting the art of instructing his students as simply and understandably as possible\, he now immensely enjoys using this same skill to build high-tech products with an intuitive and easily-understandably Ux. He is a highly creative problem solver\, in which he blends research\, technology and aesthetics into actual business value and advice. Wouter is a communicator at heart and especially enjoys working with international clients due to his background in English. \nSign up here!

SUMMARY:Neo4J Meetup: From Knowledge to Insights with Neo4j and Machine Learning
DESCRIPTION:Thursday \, Oct 10 · 6:00 PM  Meetup : From Knowledge to Insights with Neo4j and Machine Learning\n\n\nDEVOXX 2024 is around the corner in 2 weeks in Antwerp. To complement this great event Neo4j and Hopsworks invite you to a great meetup in Antwerp\, just a short tram ride away from DEVOXX. \n\n\n\nDuring this meetup there are 3 fantastic talks: \nMichael Hunger\, lead product innovation and developer strategy at Neo4j\, will explain the role Neo4j is playing in the GenAI journey. \nWe all know that LLMs hallucinate and RAG can help by providing current\, relevant information to the model for generative tasks.\nBut can we do better than just vector retrievals? A knowledge graph can represent data (and reality) at high fidelity and can make this rich context available based on the user’s questions. But how to turn your text data into graphs data structures?\nHere is where the language skills of LLM can help to extract entities and relationships from text\, which you then can correlate with sources\, cluster into communities and navigate while answering the questions.\nIn this talk we will both dive into Microsoft Research’s GraphRAG approach as well as run the indexing and search live with Neo4j and LangChain. \nRik Van Bruggen\, VP EMEA for Hopsworks will illustrate how you can use graph embeddings in a broader Machine Learning system \nGraphs are great – and Rik would probably be the very last person to doubt that. As a native Antwerpian and a decade-long graph enthusiast\, Rik will show you how you can use the power of Neo4j together with the Hopsworks Machine Learning Operations (MLOps) platform to bring the power of the graph to life. After all\, it’s great to get graph insights\, but unless you fully operationalise them in a production system\, it does not provide the business value it deserves. \nQuinten Rosseel\, freelance Machine Learning Engineer\, is diving headfirst into the mashup of AI agents\, generative audio/video\, and healthcare know-how. \nQuinten will demonstrate Mina\, an LLM-powered Q&A chatbot built with Neo4j and LangChain\, that’s already answering medical questions via chat and voice for UZ Brussel. He’ll also dish on his work with Wobby.ai (AI agents) and Anam.ai (generative AI personas)\, and how melting today’s AI tech could lead to healthcare experiences sharp enough to make your doctor sweat. \nFor more info see here
